Jet Harris & Mark Windows take a break while filming in Soho
A teenage Jet Harris played double bass in the jazz clubs and coffee bars of the late 1950s. He was the first musician in the UK to play the electric bass guitar.

While working at the Two I's coffee bar in Soho, Cliff Richard invited Jet to join his group The Drifters, which Jet later renamed The Shadows. Jet left The Shadows in 1962 and achieved success as a solo artist. He then teamed up with fellow ex-Shadow Tony Meehan and had a string of hits including the number one "diamonds". Jet was in a serious car crash in 1963 which was a huge set back to his career. Jet did return to the stage and his loyal fans guaranteed him an enthusiastic following.

Billie Davis was promoting jets 50th Anniversary tour and suggested making the film in 2009. It also coincided with Jets last album "The Journey" produced by Nigel Hopkins. The subsequent theatre shows put Jet back in the spotlight. In 2010 he was awarded an MBE.

Jet passed away on 18 March 2011, aged 71 but his loyal fans still keep his memory alive.

Paul McCartney once said if it wasn't for Jet Harris, he wouldn't have picked up a bass guitar.

Directed by Mark Windows "From there to here" documents Jets incredible life and is an intimate and often poignant film. With contributions from a host of stars and musicians including Marty Wilde, Wee Wilie Harris, Mike Berry, Frank Allen, Mo foster and also Colin Pryce Jones of The Rapiers, who spent many years touring with jet.

The one hour Backstage Pass bonus dvd is packed with anecdotes and rock n roll history again with contributions from a host of musicians.

"Rather than simply tell the story, From There to Here centres around Jets own memories, delivered with dry self deprecating humour, rare honesty and humble pride in this warm , often poignant account of someone who could easily have ended up as one of music's forgotten heroes."
